Energy China GPEC Won 5 National Quality Engineering Project Awards

Recently, the China Construction Enterprise Management Association announced the "Decision on Recognizing the 2020-2021 National Quality Project Award", and Energy China GPEC won 5 national quality engineering project awards. Among them, the Northwest Yunnan to Guangdong ±800kV UHV DC Power Transmission Project and the Nuclear Power Project of Units 3 and 4 of China Guangdong Nuclear Power Yangjiang Nuclear Power Plant won the National Quality Project Gold Award, Guangdong 500kV Qishan (Jiedong) Substation Project, Guangdong Datang International Leizhou Power Plant 2*1000MW new construction project and the general contracting project of Guangzhou No. 6 Resources Thermal Power Plant won the National Quality Project Award.

  The Northwest Yunnan to Guangdong ±800kV UHV DC Power Transmission Project starts in Jianchuan County, Dali Prefecture, Yunnan Province in the west, and crosses Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi, and Guangdong provinces. The total length of the line is about 1953 kilometers. It is the first west-to-east power transmission line to Shenzhen also a major channel with the highest elevation and the longest distance for the main grid of West-East Power Transmission. Energy China GPEC is responsible for the construction of bid section 24 and the grounding pole site project in northwestern Yunnan, section 25, and section 2 of the receiving end supporting exchange project. It is reported that the construction of the project could reduce coal consumption in the Pearl River Delta by about 6.4 million tons, carbon dioxide emissions by about 16 million tons, and sulfur dioxide emissions by about 123,000 tons per year. The benefits of energy-saving and emission reduction are obvious. This project not only improves the power transmission capacity of the upper reaches of the Lancang River in western China, but also effectively alleviates the environmental pressure in the Pearl River Delta, meets the energy demand of the Pearl River Delta region, and promotes the sustainable and healthy development of the regional economy.

  The Yangjiang Nuclear Power Plant plans to build 6 Megawatt-level nuclear power units. It is currently China's largest nuclear power project with the largest number of approved units at one time. It is an important symbol of China's nuclear power development in scale, serialization, and standardization. Among them, Unit 3 and Unit 4 commenced commercial operation on January 1, 2016, and March 15, 2017, respectively. Energy China GPEC is responsible for the construction and installation of conventional islands and BOP for units 3, 4, and 6 of Yangjiang Nuclear Power, as well as the installation of nuclear islands for units 5 and 6. It is reported that after the completion of the Yangjiang Nuclear Power Station, the annual grid power could reach 48 billion kWh, which could reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 38.28 million tons and save 15.6 million tons of coal each year.

  The Guangdong 500kV Qishan (Jiedong) Substation Project has 2 newly built 750 MVA main transformers, with a total length of transmission line of 11.8 kilometers, and 25 newly built iron power transmission towers. The project officially started construction in April 2017 and was completed in January 2019, spanning 21 months. The construction of the project had two parts: the 500kV Qishan substation and the supporting transmission line. Energy China GPEC undertook the 500kV Qishan substation project and the 500kV Jiaying to Rongjiang Xiekou into Qishan station double circuit line project (Jieyang section). We were the main contractor for the major part of the project. The project was also awarded the "National Soil and Water Conservation Ecological Civilization Project of 2019 Production and Construction Project", and it is the only 500kV power transmission and transformation project in the country that has won this honor. The 500kV Qishan power transmission and transformation project had significant ecological effects on soil erosion prevention and water and soil conservation. Relevant experience and practices have been promoted and applied in multiple projects, which played an important role in demonstrating and guiding the high-quality development of water and soil conservation in the same type of power transmission and transformation projects.

  Guangdong Datang International Leizhou Power Plant's " Developing large units and suppressing small ones" Project is located in Wushi Lingang Industrial Park, Leizhou City, Guangdong Province. The project's plan was to build 6 sets of 1000MW units. In this phase of the project, 2 sets of 1000MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired steam generating units, namely Units 1 and 2, with a total capacity of 2000MW, will be constructed. These are the first domestic double-reheat, π-type furnace 1000MW units. Energy China GPEC was responsible for the construction of the main body of Unit 1. The project is one of the key construction projects outlined in the 13th Five-Year Plan of Guangdong Province. The commissioning of the project is of great significance to the total industrial economy of Guangdong Zhanjiang, improving energy security capabilities, optimizing the industrial structure, and stimulating the economic development of Leizhou County.

  The general contracting project of the construction of the Guangzhou No.6 Resources Thermal Power Plant was located in Bitan Village, Xiancun Town, Zengcheng District, Guangzhou. The waste incineration system was equipped with 3 sets of 750 ton per day mechanical grate furnace, plus 3 sets of 63.29 tons per hour waste heat boilers, 2 sets of 22MW condensing steam turbines, and 25MW generator set, with an average daily processing capacity of 2000 tons of domestic waste, an annual processing capacity of 730,000 tons, and an annual power generation capacity of approximately 263 million kWh. The project started in January 2016 and was officially put into operation in January 2018. Energy China GPEC is responsible for the equipment installation and commissioning of the entire plant. After the project was put into operation, it has improved the reduction, resource utilization and harmless disposal of domestic waste in the Zengcheng District of Guangzhou, and achieved the goal of no raw refuse being sent to the landfill. All of these efforts have played an important role in further optimizing the local environment.
